30. Ask this question to engage your customers

Effective questions:

  • What is your primary reason for being here?
  • What do you want to gain from our work with you?
  • What prompted you to visit the website?
  • How does this fit into your overall plan or strategy?

Ask questions that focus on what your customer wants to gain, not their impressions of you and your performance. If you do this well and you meet their needs, you won’t need to ever worry much about the impression you’ve left.
