I’ve been a longtime listener to Coaching for Leaders and am excited about this new podcast and website. Thank you, Dave(and Bonnie and the many guests you’ve had) for the rich and wonderful source of ideas, inspiration, and practical advise.
I am a Dale Carnegie graduate and have been a graduate-coach in two subsequent classes.
I originally found Coaching for Leaders through the AT&T Windows Mobile smartphone Marketplace.(and maybe a link from an email from Dale Carnegie?)
There were some glitches in my podcast subscription when there were some changes in the delivery chain. I’m not sure how I eventually resolved it.
I was disappointed to not find the Carnegie Coach podcast at the same source, because I would very much like to subscribe to the podcast.
Neither this nor the Leaders website works well on my Windows Mobile smartphone, but that is not a very big deal in that I subscribe to the Coaching for Leaders email updates, and now, as I’ve done with Carnegie Coach.
I listened to episode one just now from this site and will probably work my way through the next few, but was wondering if you might give me some direction to finding a way to subscribe, given my smartphone OS and service provider.
(Would a “play now” in the emails work?)
I will dig around and learn about Stitcher in the process, and hopefully figure it out.
In the meantime, I wish you much success in this new venture. (And I’m sure I’ll be more successful with my next smartphone- my preferred podcast platform.)
Thanks again!
Chris Verdugo
Hey Chris,
Thanks for much for the kind note and taking the time to reach out. So glad you’ve connected over here as well!
Sorry to hear that the play button isn’t working nice on Windows Phone. I wish I could advise you better on good podcast client options for Windows and Windows Phone. I know Microsoft pulled some of the native support they had for listening to podcasts in Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. However, that’s about all the detail I know (I’m an iPhone guy). We used to have the ability as producers to request to be added to Microsoft’s Zune directory, but I understand that system is now gone.
I just did a quick Google search for “Windows Phone podcast app” and came up with the following link, which might help:
http://allaboutwindowsphone.com/features/item/18410_Podcatchers_podcast_managers-c.php
Any decent podcast app will allow you to manually add a show by asking you for the RSS feed. Here are the direct feeds for both Carnegie Coach and Coaching for Leaders:
Carnegie Coach: http://carnegiecoach.com/?feed=podcast
Coaching for Leaders: http://coachingforleaders.com/?feed=podcast
Let me know if the above is helpful, Chris. That way, I can help others out who ask about listening on Windows Phone.
Keep me in the loop on feedback you have for the new show.
